Description
Talisker 18 years Single Malt
The Talisker 18 years single malt is a special and sometimes rare bottle from the Talisker series, one of the few Talisker Whiskies with proven age. Especially when compared to the 10 year old, he is convincing us with a great complexity, arising from the long maturation period. On the other hand, despite all its great balance, it still has an own strong character. This bottle is definitely something special and deserves a place in the bar of lovers of smoky Scotch whiskies.
Where does it come from?
1830 the MacAskill brothers rowed from Eigg across the ocean to the Isle of Skye to build the Talisker distillery. Around 70 years later, Talisker was already one of the best-selling Scottish malts. Surviving storms, crises and fires over time, they are still producing remarkable whiskies, which today belong to the Classic Malts series of the Diageo Group. The roughness of the sea has always been an inspiration for the Talisker distillers and also adorns the label of most current packaging. The distillery character is powerful, peppery-salty and smoky.
How does it taste?
After a creamy, smoky start, a delicate fruitiness follows, reminiscent of plums and sweet raspberries. In the background, we feel the typical iodine taste of the sea. Another typical characteristic of Talisker is the so-called “Chili Catch”, a slightly hot, peppery taste on the tongue, which is still clearly present in this 18-year-old single malt after all these years of maturation. This peppery-spicy finish rounds off the wonderful overall picture and lets you guess why the Talisker 18 year old single malt is so highly valued by connoisseurs and whisky lovers around the world.
A very interesting and complex single malt and a perfect dram for your special moments!

Mariana –
This is a great single malt, which shows that nothing is contributing better to a good whisky than age in well-chosen barrels.
Its full of flavours, but still mild and well-balanced!
Great stuff!
