What about a good old dish where a dram of Whisky makes the difference?
Do you enjoy cooking? Or would you finally like to try?
To tell you the truth, I never liked cooking too much when my kids were small. Since I always had to work and therefore time was always short, it meant not much more than bringing something eatable on the table, when the hungry pack stormed in through the door. And like kids are… they enjoyed much more the good old fast-food pizza than a painstakingly prepared dish that contained perhaps unfamiliar spices or ingredients. At that time, I was more of a master in the discipline “In-20-minute-menu-on-the-table” than a gourmet cook.
But I changed my mind. If cooking is done like a partner event for Saturday night, that’s a different story. So, to all kitchen-muffles, like I was one before: What about giving it a try?
Don´t plan anything else for next Saturday. Take care for the shopping, take a nice convenient jeans and a cool shirt an meet your Babe in the kitchen.
Preparation:
- Clean up the kitchen
- Download recipe from HERE.
- Go shopping
- Turn on candles
- Turn on music

More InformationA little dram of good Whisky is a brilliant start into the evening, not too peaty, because you still want to taste the food. For example, a 12 year Tobermory would be an excellent choice.
And then you can start to cut the ingredients and stir together … If you just follow the recipe, you can not go wrong here unless you forget to stir and the stove was too hot … 🙂
And if you are looking for a suitable song to serve this traditional “folk meal” try the classic “Boil Them Cabbage down!” in a great version of The Grascals.
