Description
Talisker Neist Point
Talisker Neist Point takes its name from the western point of the Isle of Skye. The Atlantic is wild and stormy here and ishes around the island. An attractive little lighthouse is located on a headland, a popular destination for visitors. The character of the distillery Talisker reflects this harsh marine climate. Older bottlings are sometimes more complex and have a significantly higher smoke content. On the other side, the Neist Point is one of the newer bottlings, which it is a good addition to the Talisker range.
In 2015 it was introduced for travel retail. There is no age indicated. It was matured in carefully selected barrels of various ages and bottled at 45.8% without cool filtering. It is placed as a premium product between Talisker 18 years and Talisker 25 years.
Attention: Last bottle – collector´s chance
What is in the nice package with the lighthouse?
The Neist Point is a complex single malt with a young and wild attitude. The proportion of smoke is clearly noticeable, but less dominant than in previous years’ bottlings. Instead, the peppery sharpness and the maritime note show up first and are complemented by sweet and spicy wood notes.
The selected mix of young and old barrels for maturation has produced an exciting whisky with a rather powerful and aggressive character.
As expected, the Neist Point is the storm in the nosing glass and a premium bottling for Talisker fans and collectors.

Type: Single Malt Whisky
Nose: the spray of the sea, some iodized salt, just a light smoke note; followed by sweet aromas of ripe oranges, cocktail cherries and custard, a hint of licorice and spicy wood notes remains on
Palate: fresh, powerful chili catch explodes on the tongue and stimulates the flow of saliva; after a while a distinctive aroma of spicy, sweet ginger, pepper and sea salt develops, followed by hints of orange peel, apricots and cinnamon. The smoke note becomes a little stronger.
Finish: the dry chilli heat is still noticeable and warming in the finish, accompanied by spicy and slightly smoky notes of burning oak
